Synergies and Joint Ventures

Tarragona's chemical sector has a high degree of integration, cooperation and synergies among its companies. AEQT itself is an example of these joint initiatives, and there are several more in areas related to safety, sustainability and training, for instance.

Chemical Park
Emergency Services

Chemical Parks Emergency Services are corporate firefighting stations built by chemical sector companies.

Rack
Dixquímics

A shared piping network that connects different petrochemical companies and the Port of Tarragona.

Industrial
Wastewater

The sector carries out, through Aitasa, a joint management of industrial waters that allows the use of synergies and cooperation between companies in the chemical sector of Tarragona.

Joint Sewage
Pipe

Tarragona's chemical sector companies have a joint submarine sewage pipe to better manage wastewater disposal.

Training

AEQT sponsors several training projects for professionals in the petrochemical sector. The AEQT-AEST courses are offered in coordination with AEST (Associació d’Empreses de Serveis de Tarragona), and are required for all the personnel of ancillary service companies that work on the facilities of AEQT members. On the other hand AEQT and some of its members sponsor Dual Professional Training courses on different fields.

ChemMed Tarragona

The presence of Southern Europe's largest chemical park led to the creation of the ChemMed Tarragona cluster in 2014. Led by AEQT and its member companies, as representatives of the chemical sector, and by the Port of Tarragona, the cluster represents a cross section of organizations, gathering a total of thirty producers, more than a hundred service companies, and over thirty public and private organizations, including public administrations (the Spanish government, Catalonian government, municipalities...), academic and scientific institutions (Rovira i Virgili University, Catalonian Institute for Chemical Research, Eurecat, professional training organizations...), as well as social and economic institutions (chambers of commerce, Cepta, Pimec, trade unions). The ChemMed Tarragona forum, where the petrochemical sector projects its commitment to the progress and development of the Camp de Tarragona region, is shared with all of Camp de Tarragona and its main institutions.

Business Partners

AEQT's Business Partners program is intended for companies that work directly with the chemical sector, and offers them an opportunity to present their products and activities in the heart of Camp de Tarragona's chemical sector. Created in 2015, it offers a standardized procedure for networking and exploring synergies between AEQT members and companies that are willing to offer their products and services.
